James Dyson, founder of Dyson, the British maker of vacuum cleaners – (I think the best vacumn on the planet) has announced that they expect to launch electric cars by 2021.
Dyson will expand facilities at a former British military airfield, Hullavington Airfield in southern England, as their site for development. Dyson has announced it will invest 2 billion pounds ($2.6 billion) overall in its electric car program.
The company has already restored two hangars dating from 1938, space where 400 employees already now work. Additional office space is planned for the 2,000+ staff that will be employed at the site.
As the next building phase at the 750 acre site, plans are to build more than 10 miles of test tracks. The test tracks will be used to test their EV cars.
